Sax Realty, Inc. began as Uniwest Realty, Inc. in 1986 located in Alexandria, VA. Fifteen years later, Les Sax became the Owner and Principal, changing the name to Sax Realty. The company relocated to Del Ray Avenue in Bethesda. In 2009, Sax Realty moved around the corner onto Cordell Avenue where they continue doing Retail Real Estate business. That business encompasses all phases Retail Brokerage: Investment, Sales & Acquisitions, Tenant Representation and Landlord Development & Leasing.

Les Sax has over a quarter century of knowledge in all areas of Retail Real Estate Brokerage. He knows what is happening in the Washington Metro Area ADI markets because he talks with the retail storeowners and managers. Being a voracious reader, Les constantly updates himself on current trends. He does not need to refer to computer-generated maps that show a site in the middle of an intersection, because he has already seen the site, the center, the big box store or restaurant in person. This is what Les calls being "old school. This does not mean that he does not use technology to access the most current demographics, but he also checks the facts by other means and with others. Les goes the extra distance to make sure he knows the territory and has answers at the ready. Les also listens. He listens intently to what his client needs; what they are saying. Whether the client is representing a retailer or a landlord, Les asks pertinent questions to establish the criteria. An expert at site assessment, he analyzes where a retailer needs a presence, where the site possibilities exist in accordance with what the retailer has in mind or the retailer that a landlord wants in their center. A retailer that will be an asset to the center, not just pay the rent. Les remains positive about the changing retail real estate environment, whether good or bad. He looks for the unusual opportunities that present themselves to his client's advantage. One thing for certain: He never waivers in his zeal for making deals that work for all parties. Above all else, he is adamant that all transactions are honest and worthy of the trust his clients have invested in him. Les lives, eats and drinks retail brokerage. However, he does allow time for his family and next to that, his beloved NATS! Even though a Terps fan, he can never talk enough about the "curly W" and the latest developments.
